The Internal Medicine residency program at St. John’s Riverside Hospital offers both ACGME accredited three year categorical and one year preliminary medicine tracks. Both tracks are community-based and designed to train knowledgeable, compassionate and efficient physicians.
While our program focuses on the delivery of healthcare within a community-based system, our curriculum is designed to train providers who can practice in any environment. Our teaching staff is diverse and combines the expertise and experiences of employed faculty physicians and private practitioners. The academic experience has been carefully designed to best prepare physicians to practice in both inpatient and outpatient community settings. Our curriculum is dynamic and designed to adapt to the healthcare challenges in our community. The ACGME core competencies are integrated throughout the curriculum, offering a balance of clinical experience, didactic and other educational opportunities.
